Visualizing the usage of The Things Network
Making complex, technical data from The Things Network accessible and engaging
This experiment reveals which places people favor in the city on the basis of Foursquare data. The aim was to add a virtual layer to the physical city because we wanted to see how the amounts of data that are being generated in a city, can enhance the way people experience that city.
Based on the FourSquare data, we learned how to merge location metrics with a physical map through which people's online behaviour can be made more tangible.
Different ways of interacting with and viewing the city become increasingly exciting in the context of urban technologies. This experiment provides a specific angle by mapping out virtual social happenings so that people can engage with the digital layer of the city.
