Flight of the Night Re-imagined
i
What role can artistic and generative design play in reshaping data visualization? We asked ourselves while revisiting our old project with BYBORRE for the Red Bull Playrooms during the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) festival.

Background

In order to expand the team’s 3D knowledge, we experimented with the data and visuals of the collaborative project with BYBORRE for the Red Bull Playrooms during the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) festival. In this extension of the previous project, we attempted to re-imagine the Red-Bull flight of the night data visualisation to create new perspectives using 3D, and to provide a more immersive experience.

What did we learn

We learned how to make a 3-dimensional data visualisation using Blender and Geometry Nodes. We also learned the strength of combining multiple tools to accomplish one goal: applying each according to their strengths and weaknesses.

Ambitions

Our ambition is to use the knowledge gained from this experiment to continue to increase the immersive experience in our data visualizations for projects to come.
