The challenge
As cybersecurity threats continue to grow in volume and sophistication, organizations are confronted with an increasingly complex and fragmented security landscape. Teams are forced to manage risk across a patchwork of specialized tools, each offering partial visibility and requiring different expertise. For Blackpoint Cyber, the challenge was to respond to this broader industry problem by reducing this fragmentation while supporting multiple roles and functionalities within a single, scalable system.

Together with Blackpoint Cyber, we designed CompassOne: a platform that provides a unified foundation for modern cybersecurity management. By consolidating Blackpoint Cyber’s capabilities into a scalable and intuitive interface, it reduces operational silos and creates a shared source of truth across roles and functions. At the heart of the platform lies the Security Posture visualization — a single compass that gives the user an overview of their cyberflow and makes it easy to spot issues at a glance.
CompassOne brings together detection, response, and prevention capabilities all in one platform. The design system supports both current and future modules, enabling the product to evolve without sacrificing usability. As a result, users gain clearer oversight, faster decision-making, and a more efficient path from threat detection to action.

We guided Blackpoint Cyber in differentiating their product by embedding multiple layers of prevention into unified risk scoring and evolving it into a scalable, holistic cybersecurity platform: CompassOne.

To move Blackpoint Cyber from its current state to a scalable product vision, we evaluated two parallel paths: a module-driven rollout and a feature-driven evolution. We chose a modular foundation to accelerate the MVP, structuring the platform around core system components that could scale reliably across tenants. This approach allowed us to stabilize architecture, performance, and permissions early on, while leaving room to layer in high-impact features over time.
