How can 3D visualization techniques be used to reveal and analyze the unique riding styles of BMX cyclists based on sensor data?

Background

Based on the data collected in the BMX cyclist event, this experiment reveals the unique style of each cyclist and how they make use of the course through the sensors attached to their bicycle wheel.

What did we learn?

For this visualization we used 'Three.js' JavaScript 3D library to create, render and animate the 3D scene and its different elements. This way, we were able to gain a more dynamic perspective on data.

Ambitions

This experiment actually became an inspiration for our Live BMX Data Visualization project that we developed later on. Based on the knowledge we gained during this experiment, we had a better vision on how to provide deeper insights into the performance of each cyclist with more than just numbers.
